Cynthia Gus, writer/director/producer

CYNTHIA GUS (Writer, Director, Producer) is a musician, social worker, and writer drawn to exploring the depths of the human experience and everything funny in between. Her passion for tackling challenging themes and inability to say no to crazy opportunities helped her gather the amazing cast, crew, and musicians for Chasing the Rain, her first film project. In addition to her work as a filmmaker, Cynthia mentors young artists at a local university, serves on a heroin prevention task force, and has volunteered for projects devoted to clean water and human trafficking. She also frequently laughs at times she shouldn't.

RICK SHAINE, ACE (Editor), is an esteemed veteran in the industry with credits including such movies as The Chronicles of Narnia, The Incredible Hulk, and Amazing Grace. Cynthia sought him out because she remembered how much his first movie, Nightmare on Elm Street, traumatized her as a child and credited much of that to the stellar editing job.

LON STRATTON (Cinematographer) has been working as a cinematographer since 1992 and is the founder of Stratton Camera Inc., a swank film and digital cinema camera rental company located in the Detroit area. He once said Chasing the Rain was his favorite movie he'd shot (but we're not supposed to tell anyone he actually enjoyed it).

ERIC LINDEMANN (Supervising Sound Designer) was a sound designer and special effects editor for the “Best Sound” Oscar-winning The Matrix. In addition, his sound design credits include: The Raven, The Green Mile, Meet The Fockers, Lord of War, Apollo 13, My Cousin Vinny, Pretty Woman, Ender’s Game, and Jupiter Ascending. Eric is a lover of animals and is pretty sure he has sound designed more dog movies than most in the industry.

SCOTT DAVID, CSA (Casting Director), has been casting since 1996 and has worked with many directors and producers in film, television, theater, and new media. He's currently the Casting Director for the long-running TV series Criminal Minds and the new spin-off series Criminal Minds Beyond Borders. He is the owner of THE ACTORS LINK, a prominent casting director workshop and acting studio with 2 locations in Los Angeles. Scott's passion for his projects is infectious and inspiring and watching him be excited about them is as entertaining as watching a great movie.

SARA GROVES (Composer) has been nominated for 7 Dove Awards and has produced a string of successful albums including her latest, Invisible Empires, which was named 'Album of the Year' by numerous publications in 2011. Sara and her husband Troy cultivate an artist support community out of a 100-year-old church called Art House North in St. Paul, Minnesota. Cynthia has been a huge fan of Sara's music for years, has covered many of her songs, owns all of her albums, and may or may not have stalked Sara at an International Justice Mission event (before hiring her, of course).
